For the self-publishers out there, soft-cover perfect bound books are the first choice. With perfect binding, the interior pages are joined to the spine of the cover with strong, flexible, thermal glue. The top, bottom, and open side of the book are then trimmed to give the book "perfect", clean edges.
Pages:
For perfect bound books the number of pages will always be a multiple of two. A single sheet of paper has two sides and each side is considered one page even if they are blank. Since the cover sheet creates the front cover, spine, and back cover, we don't include the cover in the page count. So a 36 page perfect bound book will consist of 18 interior sheets (36 pages), plus the cover.
Minimum Page Count:
Perfect bound books must have a minimum page count of 36 pages. Any less and the glue won't have an adequate spine surface area for the book to hold together.
Sizes:
5.5" x 8.5" and 6" x 9" finished sizes are the most popular. For custom sizes please modify the size on the quote page before submitting.
Interior Color:
If your books' interior pages use mixed colors (some pages full color - some pages black), please indicate the number of each on the quote form for accurate pricing.
1) Choose Product Options
Complete the product details (project title, quantity, paper stock, etc.) and click Custom Quote. On the Custom Quote page, please fill out any additional details you'd like to include or Creative Design Service requests and click submit.
2) Upload files
Whether you're ready to upload print ready files after submitting your quote request, or supporting files for us to create your design, click the Upload Files link in the My Account drop down menu and follow the instructions.
3) Review and Approve Estimate
You will receive an email when your job estimate is ready for review. Add the items you want to move into production from the estimate to your cart.
4) Checkout
Select your payment method and shipping address. Click Continue to review your order. Click on Submit to finish. Your credit card will be charged and we will email you your invoice immediately.
